As a heat wave hit the east coast region, all was peaceful and quiet on the home front as the volunteers at Ritchie were setteling down for the evening until a major storm with hurrican type winds and rain hit the area hard. Volunteers were quickly put to work running call after call and with the way it was going they weren't sure when they would see the station again. At one point all routes back to the station were blocked by large trees that had been toppled over. The dedicated volunteers took in a total of 63 runs from Friday night until Sunday morning when things finally started to slow down. The company appeared on many different service calls, auto accidents, box alarms, gas leaks, a working fire dispatch, and 3 alarmer. Members slept all day Monday !
