Shortly after 1100 today, Engine Co.37 was alerted for the 26 box for a report of a house on fire in the 6600 block of Lacona Street. The engine arrived as dispatched (4th due as RIC) setting up on side alpha. Units had a basement fire with extension to all floors and in the attic. High winds made firefighting operations difficult. Engine Co.37 completed their RIC duties as well as opened up and extinguished hot spots.

Shortly before 0400 hrs E837 w/4 were dispatched as the second due engine company for the reported apartment fire in the 10000blk of Prince Pl in 46s area. First arriving units went on scene with nothing evident from the alpha side. Upon completion of the 360 it was relayed there was fire showing from the charlie side of the building. E837 stretched a backup line to the fire apartment and extinguished fire throughout. 37 operated for approximately 2 hours before returning to service.
