First Due House
Just before 1100 hours, the house fire assignment was dispatched for a reported roof on fire in the 1300 blk of Alberta Drive. Engine 371 (3 Volunteers) laid a supply line at and arrived on the scene to find fire showing from solar panels on the roof of a 1 story on a basement sing family dwelling. Engine 371’s crew advanced a 200’ 1 1/2” cross lay while the Driver went to Side Bravo and cut the power off to the electrical supply from the solar panels. The OIC completed a 360 degree lap and found walk out basement access on Side Charlie and the basement bing clear of smoke or fire. Engine 821 (Oxon Hill) who was in the area when the call was dispatched, was alerted as the 2nd due Engine. They arrived and pulled a 250’ 1 1/2” backup line off Engine 371 and advanced it to the interior of the house. Tower 33 (Kentland) arrived on scene and split their crew in 2, with 1 team going interior and 1 team went to the roof. The fire was contained to the roof only with no extension into the attic or bedroom below. Battalion Chief 885 (Fletcher, Jr.) had Command.
